Hey, I’m Chance Forman, serial entrepreneur and founder of Chance To Inspire.

Have you ever struggled with being over-weight or feel tired and sluggish from simply being out of shape?

Find yourself sitting on the couch binge watching Game of Thrones, stuffing your face with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

Doing anything to not think about work, or something tragic that happened.

Telling yourself I’ll start working out again on Monday

Monday comes around and you find every excuse in the book not to work out because it just seems like too much “work”.

After all, you have to get up tomorrow and go to real work… BLAH

Life starts catching up with you and you start falling behind on your bills and responsibilities.

Turning your finances into a nightmare.

You’re not alone. Don’t worry.

It wasn’t long ago I was in a similar situation.

My daughter survived a very traumatic birth and after months in the hospital we finally made it home.

Unable to leave for work due to her situation, I became a Netflix, cookie and ice cream addict.

Telling myself every bite was easing the pain of what we were going through.

One day I’m brushing my teeth about to hop in the shower and I look at myself in the mirror and didn’t even recognize who I was looking at.

I knew my mind was clouded with the worries of fighting for Lilly’s life and the loss of businesses, friends, and toys.

I had to change my mindset and daily habits and routines. Not to get back to where I was before but to excel on to bigger and better things with more purpose and impact.

The next day I hired a mentor,  got a hair-cut for the first time in two years, shaved, started going back to the gym and making sure I took a shower everyday.

I set a challenge for myself to go to the gym 6 days a week and to read at least one book a week.

Replacing my habits of sugar and t.v. with exercise for my mind and body helped me get back to scaling my businesses and growing my passion for helping others.

Giving me mass amounts of self-awareness and new found purpose.

Since then to the day of writing this I lost 24 lbs. of fat and gained enough clarity in life to build a complete new business, both in only 83 days.

All while getting to spend all day with my family and taking care of my daughter’s needs for her disabilities.

After we got home from the hospital and couldn’t find help for Lilly’s care, I was fueling my depression thinking my family’s life and dreams had been crushed.

That was just me letting my emotions take over my mindset.

Remembering things don’t happen to us, they happen for us.

In our minds we think the world is out to get us and we can never get ahead, so we settle into conformity and convenience with both our health and our wealth.

That is so far from the truth..

In today’s time with technology we have more access than ever to get work out and diet tips to improve our health. Outlets to branding and marketing to advance and grow our wealth like never before.

You just have to be willing to do whatever it takes to shift your mindset and create new habits that will propel you forward towards a more healthy, wealthy, lifestyle.

I want to give you a few tips of the actions I took to improve my health and increase my wealth all while fighting for my daughter’s quality of life.

1. Stop procrastinating! This is everyone biggest set back. What is holding you back? Time, money, fear of being judged, ect… Forget about all that noise and go take back control of your life.

*30 day challenge to do 45 minutes of hard core, no break work outs for 30 day straight.

2. Clarity – I find clarity by taking action. By not procrastinating and working on my physical fitness, it helps clear my mind to help me get a better vision for my goals.

3. Energy – By working out I’m gaining more energy, but the real key is the fuel that we put into our bodies. Stop consuming junk and start eating healthy. This will not only fast track you fitness goals but give you more energy and clarity.

4. Strategize – Develop a plan by creating new habits and rituals that are geared towards a healthier, wealthier you! Think about what you eating, what can you do active, and what is your plan to monetize and optimize your business. *I like to talk with my inner circle and bounce ideas around before moving forward 100%.

5. Prioritize – Audit your days prior. Are you spending too much time online scrolling or watching tv or even pacing back and forth to the fridge when your not even hungry just bored. Plan your days out in advance and make sure to get the most important things done first.

6. Action – This somewhat takes us back to square one, but it is the most important. You know exactly what you need to do so stop over consuming and start implementing and testing your ideas. Call or email that important game changing contact. Get off your butt and make something happen. No one is going to make it happen for you.

To some this might seem like common sense, but the thing is that common sense is not always common practice.

The biggest mistake that most people make when trying to improve their health and increase their wealth is to compare themselves to others that are already where they want to be.

Do NOT, I repeat Do NOT do that.

The only person you need to compare yourself to is who you were yesterday and as long as you are following these 6 steps, I know for a fact that you will be a better you.

As you come to the end of this article I want you to do yourself a favor. No matter if your at work, at home in bed, or at the coffee shop drinking a latte…

Stand up, stretch, take a deep breath and say, “Today is the start of the rest of my life.”

Then, drop down and give yourself 50 push ups. If your not a push up type of person then grab the dog leash and take your pup for a minimum 30 minute brisk walk. I don’t care what it is, but stop procrastinating and start taking action.. RIGHT NOW!

HOW TO JUICE

Ready to start juicing but don’t know where to start? Here are tips for making your making your own healthy, fresh juice at home.

1. Wash all fruits, vegetables and herbs

2. Add the most delicate ingredients first, such as leafy greens and herbs.

3. Follow with soft vegetables and fruits, such as tomatoes, berries, etc.

4. Finish with hard vegetables and fruits, such as apples, celery, etc.

5. Drink fresh juice within a day or freeze it.

Essential Oils For Clarity

Spring is officially here, and our weeks seem to be getting busier and busier every day. Between school breaks, spring festivals and an array of social events, most of us feel overwhelmed by our family’s demanding schedules.

Are you seeking more focus and mental clarity throughout your day? The busier we get, the more we desperately need to recenter ourselves. It is easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, but it is important to take time for yourself and unwind.

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in a variety of applications. Extracted from flowers, leaves and roots of plants, essential oils offer a natural remedy for a variety of ailments, including stress.

Below is a list of essential oils that I found to be most helpful when I’m needing some “me” time, as well as a quick meditation session to clear your head and help find clarity in your life.

CEDARWOOD

Cedarwood is mentioned in the Bible as symbolizing wisdom and protection. It has properties that help with  grounding and calming, which are two important qualities to have in order to be focused. The scent of cedarwood encourages the release of serotonin in the brain, leaving  you feeling calm. Because it is a sedative, cedar has the power to relieve tension and stress that affects your health. It has a soothing and calming effect on the mind, reduces inflammation and reduces muscle pain, which allows us to focus our attention on things outside our physical ailments.  Cedar is high in sesquiterpenes, which clear out miswritten DNA in the body cells. Cedarwood sesquiterpenes also stimulate the limbic system of the brain which  elevates our mood and helps us relax.

BERGAMOT

Bergamot Oil is made of a components like Limonene and Pinene which are both known to have stimulating properties. They create a feeling of freshness and energy by improving the circulation of the blood. They also stimulate hormonal secretions which helps to maintain proper metabolic rates. The flavonoids present in Bergamot oil are very good relaxants as well. Flavonoids soothe nerves and reduce nervous tension, anxiety and stress, all of which can help cure or treat ailments associated with stress. They also stimulate of dopamine and serotonin which induce feelings of relaxation.

FRANKINCENSE

Ancient Babylonians utilized frankincense for is aromatics and burning properties during sacred rituals. Frankincense essential oil promotes deep breathing and relaxation, which can  reduce blood pressure and shift your mental state back to center. High in monoterpenes,it is believed that the oil transmits messages to the nervous system which rewrite mutated genetics code to correct DNA sequences based on your body’s genetic blueprint . It also awakens insight and makes you more introspective, which helps you to find clarity in your life. Because of its spiritual affect, the high vibrational aroma of frankincense is commonly used in prayer and meditation, helping a person drop out of their mind and move into presence with their center of consciousness.

ROSEMARY

Rosemary is much more than an herb that tastes good on chicken and potatoes. Considered sacred by ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians, rosemary has been shown to boost nerve growth factor and support the healing of neurological tissue and brain function. Worn by Greek scholars to enhance their memory, the mental strengthening ability of rosemary has been known for thousands of years. In recent years, research has shown that rosemary produces a significant increase of performance for overall quality of memory, as well as secondary memory factors. Upon further clinical observation, it was shown that rosemary enhanced free radical scavenging and reduced cortisol levels, which protects the body from oxidative stress and chronic disease.

PEPPERMINT

Peppermint is known as one of the oldest medicinal herbs, dating back at least 100o years. In Greek mythology, the God of Pluto transformed the nymph Mentha into a peppermint herb so that people could enjoy her for generations to come. A mix between spearmint and waterwint, this essential oil is known to stimulate mental activity, clear the mind and increase focus on cognitive tasks. Want a quick pick me up without the negative side effects of energy drinks? Try peppermint oil.  If you find yourself running low on energy, peppermint oil may help to improve concentration.

VETIVER

Vetiver has been used in ancient Ayurvedic medicine. It has been used as a medicinal aromatic herb all through the world including India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand and Africa.  Similar to wine, vetiver’s characteristics vary by the  geography, climate and soil condition where it is grown. Also like a fine wine, vetiver’s fragrance gets better with age. Vetiver extracted from northern India is considered the best in the world, but is rarely available outside of India. Vetiver has a very  earthy and musky smell which has a calming effect on the body and the mind. The health benefits of vetiver essential oil can be attributed to its anti-inflammatory properties. High in nervine, which takes care of the nerves and maintains their health, vetiver helps to heal damage done to the nerves by shock, fear, and stress. Vetiver is particularly good at relieving inflammation of the nervous system.

5 MINUTE MEDITATION FOR CLARITY

  1. Find a quite place you can be alone
  2. Add essential oils to diffuser or apply topically
  3. Sit on the floor indian style with your hands on your knees, palm up
  4. Close your eyes and focus on your breath. Inhale real deep and then exhale slowly, making each breath last a little longer than the breath before.
  5. After 5 minutes, open your eyes and focus on the room around you.
  6. Slowly stand up and inhale, reaching your arms over your head. Exhale while you bring you arms back down,hands to your heart.
  7. Drink a glass of water with lemon or apple cider vinegar.

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential Oils can be used in a variety of ways. The easiest is to apply the oil topically.  Blend whatever oils you are using into a glass container by simply add a few drops into a carrier oil, such as coconut oil. It is important that you use a carrier oil to dilute the essential oils because the carrier helps spread the oil, diffusing it. The best place to put this blend on your body would be your solar plexus, which is 2-3 inches above your naval. This will bring stimulation, focus, and clarity to you. Although the next method requires a little cash spending, my preferred method is to use a diffuser and surround the room with the aroma of the oils.

4 Easy Steps

Weight loss is the number one complaint when it comes to peoples health. We all want to keep the weight off and look good in a bathing suit.

For some that’s easier said then done.
What is the best way to burn off the fat? Put your metabolism in overdrive with these 4 easy steps.

1. Stay active
No this doesn’t mean stay more active on Facebook or twitter. I mean to make sure you are firing off muscles in your body everyday.
It’s no secret that physical activity is the quickest way to burn calories. I’m glad we’re on the same page with that.
By burning calories you are making your metabolism work harder there for revving it up for the next 3 steps.
2. Eat more food
Yes, you read that correct. No, I don’t mean to eat more cookies and ice cream.
Rather, eat more fresh produce and lean protein. When you are eating the right things you can just about eat as much as you want.
Portion control is great if your going for the perfect physique, but were talking about giving your metabolism a fresh start.
If you’ve been dieting on these low calorie diets for years then that could be the reason your metabolic rate has slowed down. When you eat less your body tries to adapt, leaving you eating less and going nowhere.
3. Eat more often

Digest the same amount of food just split it into more often smaller portions. This will keep your metabolism constantly working to keep it in overdrive.
When your metabolism is constantly working then you are constantly burning calories.
Crazy how eating can actually burn calories if you just eat the right foods.People will argue that science says or proves differently, but in my research I’ve seen a lot of reputable sources on both sides. I’m here to give you my personal opinion of what has worked for me and my team.
4. Muscle building
I know my women readers will not like this one, but hear me out first.
We don’t all have to lift heavy weights but working all of our muscle groups can really increase your metabolism.
Lean muscle tissue is one of the key factors to increasing your metabolic rate and burning away those unwanted calories.
Working out won’t make you a body builder unless you apply strict dieting and intense weight training routines. So you can work out worry free of becoming to bulky, just a lean, mean, high metabolism, calorie burning machine.

You don’t have to start with all 4 but I would recommend it. If it seems like too much change to start today, try implementing 1 step a week and in a month from now you will be surprised at how much healthier and energetic you feel.
